I find it hard to organize and devide stories in chapters. Sometimes, i made the chapter too long because i didn't know when should i divide 'this' scene with 'that' scene. For example my 17380 words long fiction, it was a mistake. It's pretty long because i put too much random plots in it. Someone could have died reading > So guys. Any tips that should able to enhance my chapters? Anything would be great

Here's a few tips.
You should divide chapters by change of time, place, etc. or to signify something is happening next. You could also do it if it 'feels right'
It's kinda hard to explain.
Also, you don't really need to bump stuff, this forum is pretty inactive compared to the Growtopia forums.

An outline works. You put the plot in order, then you work around the details of it.

Holy crap 17.000 words!?
That's literally 3/4 of my story! Wot in the world...
Well, here's a tip :
LEAVE IT ON A FRICKIN' CLIFFHANGER.
Yeah, that helps, at least for me in the old website where I used to post my old fictions. I left most of the chapters in a cliffhanger. And they all bashed the comments with : "Gosh, cliffhanger, why,".
Funny reactions, I need to say. So, find a good spot in the said chapter, find like any tense moment, then add fancy words.
And abruptly stop the chapter.
Works wonders.

I find cliffhangers to be ;____________; ways to end chapters if you end them every time like that.
Whenever there is an abrupt change of pace: Main character becomes embroiled in some serious shit when previously there was no major tension in the story, whenever the action is over, whenever the action is starting.

I love cliffhangers, the feeling of adrenaline (or something else), a desire to want to know what happened next is what keeps me motivated to a story, so that's why I'm not interested that much into Thoriq's. A lil' bit too anticlimatic at the ending.

Btw, OP. 17.000 words doesn't kill, I've read my own story which contained 25.000 words at this rate, back and forth in times when I'm off internet about 5 times or so so.
So, I died, then respawn, then die again?

So, I died, then respawn, then die again? The word kill is just a figure of speech to express how bad my fiction is. Don't take it too literal :/ An outline works. You put the plot in order, then you work around the details of it. Oh, I've already used that trick like all this time. Thanks for mentioning though Holy crap 17.000 words!?

Works wonders. Well... I've already used a lot of cliffhangers since the first chapters. Except, no one notice. I don't think the care or even notice theres a cliffhanger

That means your story is either bad, or the cliffhanger is obvious.
Sorry. I read your story and I really really hated it.

Divide the chapters by setting or theme. Those seem to be the most compatible "disruptions" to the narrative, as many others divisions do not seem fit. Ending a chapter abruptly is also atrocious; be sure to evolve the dialogue before the end of a chapter to make the transition smoother.
