I'd say its a race between Joshie and Juanma. But perhaps Mettaton would fit here. Anyway, share your opinions here! Nominees:- JOSHIE63
- Juanma206
- Mettaton
- quadramseed (I remembered his signature somewhere in the Growtopia forum, but I forgot the name)
- Masqueraded
- GummiBear64
- Megazork

Eloquence cannot be determined by sheer verbosity. The only real competition is how efficient would you use your vast lexicon.

Holy, what. *searches Dictionary* 'Fluency (of a language) cannot be determined by sheer superfluity of words. The only real competition is how efficient you would use your vast vocabulary. Oh. This legit took me a few minutes to figure out, even with my somewhat decent 'lexicon'.

I know a person, but i forgot her name. We used to PM in the forums months ago. God, she's a legend.
We i typed a message filled with common vocabularies. She replied with words that i never even heard (say: endeavor, emphatic, etc)
I know this doesn't count, because i didn't tell a name :/

I'd honestly say it's Mettaton, for some reason, whenever I read Joshie's post, the only time I read such complicated posts (luckily I can still decipher it by considering the previous words and guessing about the meaning of the word), is when he presses against us "Young'N"s, like, claiming superiority of some sort.
Meanwhile, Mettaton, just, y'know, go with the flow. Except for his first post in this thread, .
Oh, Juanma is also an expert.
So for me, it's a tie between MTT and Juanma.

So for me, it's a tie between MTT and Juanma. Actually JOSHIE, Masqueraded, and even GummiBear64 could qualify, but JOSHIE and Masqueraded's fluency feels forced; it probably is a direct indication that they're attempting to use verbosity as an armor of superiority.

I'd say JOSHIE maybe Gummi, I don't really notice because everyone speaks broken English regardless if it is their first language or not.

Forced as it is, the sense of superiority seems to be working. I think GummiBear could qualify as it is, and his posts seem to half-reflect his real life self. As he said in a post once: There are 3 types of me. The one with perfect grammar and (insert words I don't understand here), the one that oatposts and has 'noob' grammar and a kinda 'mix' between them. (Well, it went something like that, I don't remember exactly) And then I replied: so... What do you call the one that is mixing? The perfect shi- wait wot am i doing

How is this measured? Anyone can interweave a modicum of "word of the day" words or be as exuberant as to coerce every word they read to piece together a vernacular that is clearly out of their normality — and one can tell. All aforementioned except Joshie and my own addition, Megazork, seem qualified. They display self-control and comfortability with their usage and do not need to reach at an obscure source of bravado to pat themselves on the back daily.

(add quadramseed into the list, my mind is blown by his usage of vocabulary) You have had three months to figure out who quadramseed is, yet, in retrospect, it is easier when you solve the puzzle elegantly. Even if you cannot figure it out, his name is heavily implied. Look at his signature.

Sorry, the connection in the last two sentences is vague. Do you imply that everyone except Joshie and Megazork are self-indulgent narcissists who write verbose posts to heighten their sense of ego (thus including yourself?), or the converse? I feel like the paragraph can be understood both ways.

In my eyes, the unique winner of this grand prize is Josh. Indeed, this prize is worthless, or, at the very best, only an ego boost. However he is by far the more influential of the two of us, having gained somewhat of a cult following for not only his vocabulary, but his sense of humor and incredible tact. He deeply influenced many forumers, and even those who disagree with his jokes Dragonstorm, I'm looking at you. must admit he is one of the most respected actual forumers.
Masqueraded's online persona, and I am using this only as an example so take no insult, was shaped in a form of admiration toward him. We may deeply disagree in our ideologies, but we both share a level of admiration for Josh.
This is only my humble opinion, and I stress: Comparing teenagers' verbosity is pointless, and often a bad idea. If you must, though, I pick Josh.

Ironically, Joshie posted a thread about his grammar in full caps.
Now, for some reason I cannot understand anything he says in full caps. Written normally, I have good guesses, but in capitals... I have no clue.
Anyway, added the people suggested here in the Original Post.

(add quadramseed into the list, my mind is blown by his usage of vocabulary) I would prefer to abstain from being on any list, as I do not require constant, meaningless attention. Sorry, the connection in the last two sentences is vague. Do you imply that everyone except Joshie and Megazork are self-indulgent narcissists who write verbose posts to heighten their sense of ego (thus including yourself?), or the converse? I feel like the paragraph can be understood both ways. If something is read aloud, audibly, it will either flow off the tongue, or it will sound choppy and unnatural. When I read most of the nominees, apart from Josh, who I have personally read recent drafts from, and Gummibear, who has a jocularly malicious intent behind his usage, I see people that decide to expand their vocabulary for the sole sake of the forums, which is a pseudonym for flaunting. I have not read enough from you to justly take a stance, and I prefer to be critical of you, but only to a point that can be argued for. I will not criticize with limited knowledge. As for myself, I post under very stringent conditions — which, in hind sight, are nothing spectacular to read about I suppose. There are times I can utilize an expansive vocabulary to incite the response I want; there are times I hamper my own comprehensibility by not proofreading and being considerate toward others. I need not masquerade my point behind a pompous amount of decoration — that seems more like red herring itself. I want to be understood, but I know that there could be times I accidentally go overboard, and that is a mistake then, not a goal. This is only my humble opinion, and I stress: Comparing teenagers' verbosity is pointless, and often a bad idea. If you must, though, I pick Josh.Irrefutably Josh has left his mark on people (he tells me he has people that send him messages asking for advice, and while for arbitrary matters I would assume, that is admirable that he has influenced people to that point), and has even inspired me to a degree. He is a great person to be around. Despite all that, influence is less the topic, more a reference point. I will agree with Juanma: arguing how expansive one's vocabulary is is a meek topic; that aside, Josh has a very practical vocabulary, which allows him to use a variety of different words in many different contexts. He makes tons of very subtle puns and double entendres in his writing, which requires a flexibility with words and a vast vocabulary, which is why I will choose to champion him.
